Abstrakt: In a series of three talks I will present some aspects of arithmetic of Calabi-Yau manifolds. In the first talk I will discuss definitions and present basic facts concerning Calabi-Yau manifolds, then I will recall the most important constructions (complete intersections, double octics, fiber products, Kummer-type).
